SUMMARY:EChO Twilights presents: Mindfulness in the Early Years
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness can play an important part in early childhood education\nThis 90-minute workshop is designed to be experiential\, interactive and most importantly provide a taste of what mindfulness is and the part that it can play in making your work with young children more rewarding and sustainable. You will learn some simple mindfulness skills that you can take away and practise for your personal well-being and practise with children. \n  \nGuest Speaker\, Tina Gibson\nOver the past three years I have become the leading Teacher and Teacher trainer in Australia for the Mindful Self-Compassion program. I have developed and delivered a compassion-based mindfulness program for children –‘Creating Balance’. The program is based on my experience teaching both the Mindful Schools program and the Still Quiet Place program (both of these are evidence based programs). The main intention of the program is to teach mindful body awareness (introception)\, improving their ability to notice\, understand and wisely respond to the ongoing fluctuations of emotion\, cognition and physical sensations within their day-to- day life. \n
