DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for leaders\, educators\, co-educators\, in Junior Primary and Kindergarten. \nAs educators in The Nest\, we strive to ensure that children are able to experience learning that is engaging and meaningful to them and contributes positively to their identity as a learner. \nThe Nest Educators at Alberton Primary School have created a totally integrated learning environment for kindergarten and reception children. We invite you to explore the concept of continuity of learning and the how and why of learning through play and inquiry in kindergarten and reception contexts. The day will include: \n\nTour of the Nest and broader school within which it is based.\nManaging the academic push down pressures\nDocumentation of learning\nHow it is resourced\nValuing childrenâ€™s voices\nSetting the environment inside and out\nPlanning to meet the Curriculum documents EYLF and ACARA\n\nFeedback from participants:\nâ€œFantastic presentation. Leaders\, principals\, Minister of Education should hear you. The transition between kindergarten and reception/foundation is tooo vast/unrealistic for too many childrenâ€.\nâ€œA very inspiring\, informative and supportive but also challenging dayâ€.\nâ€œI have enjoyed the whole experience; your rooms in the Nest are inspirational and provided much food for thoughtâ€.\nâ€œInspirational\, refreshing\, brave\, child centred\, honest.
